Go2 Gets Set for 2012 Olympics Holiday Rental Onslaught

Honiton, Devon (PRWEB UK) 14 July 2011

Having established its position as a provider of cottage and holiday let search and comparison in the UK, Go2 Holidays (http://www.go2-holidays.com) is seeking to build on the success of its first year by targeting the 2012 Olympic Games.

Everyone knows the best ideas are the simplest. And Go2 Holidays began with a very simple idea to bring together holiday lets and cottages from different companies, and individual owners, into one website where users could then search, compare and review them to their hearts content. It sounds obvious, and we all know its an idea which has worked well online for gas, electricity and insurance, but for some reason, its a facility which has been somewhat lacking in the holiday rental sector - in the UK at least.

After several years of frustration at having to trawl through the offerings of individual holiday company websites, jumping from one to another via a search engine, repeatedly entering the same details into each site, Ian Potts, the founder of Go2 Holidays, decided to do something about it. Go2 (http://www.go2-holidays.com) is the result. Not only does this site bring together a vast range of properties from both large self catering providers such as Hoseasons and area specialists such as Imagine Ireland, it also provides its own private listing facility in a bid to combine the best of all worlds in one place (agency-run and direct private owner properties). To cap it all off there are area guides, user reviews and even hotels to search too all presented in a clear, colourful and easy to use design.

Going on holiday is meant to be relaxing, Ian comments, but sometimes just finding the right accommodation is too much like hard work. With Go2 we simply wanted to take the stress out of the process, and give folks one place where they search and compare cottages in Newquay, for example, without the need to go jumping about from site to site. We made Go2 because we had a need for it, and I think our visitors feel the same way.

Building and maintaining a site like Go2 is a lot of work, but if its first year has been a busy one, the next twelve months look set to get busier yet! With the 2012 Olympic Games coming to London there looks set to be a run on accommodation throughout many parts of the UK, and Go2 Holidays is in a good place to cater for the demand. And with an entry in this years Good Web Guides Website of the Year award, Go2 has its gaze firmly set on a medal of its own.

Go2 Holidays launched in the middle of 2010 the fruition of an idea by its founder Ian Potts and the desire to take the stress out of finding and booking self-catering holidays. Now in its second year this South West based Search, Comparison and Review website continues to build upon its strong foundations, with an ever-increasing range of properties now over 17,000 in the UK and Ireland alone.

About Fluge Global Adventures

Several years ago, Fluge's journey through life took new turns, leading him away from the realm of eCommerce development, to new arenas that included sitting in the seat of SCCA super-cars and playing next to Las Vegas card sharks at the World Series of Poker.

Among his many adventures, Fluge scored three firsts, a second and a third place finish in SCCA Regional and National race events on his way to the GT1 class points lead in the same Derhaag Corvette that Todd Harris piloted to first and second place finishes in the 2007 and 2008 Rose Cup feature races. He also entered the same car in last year's professional Trans-Am race at PIR.

For 2010, racing isn't the only adventure Fluge is organizing. He is currently assembling a team of 10 FGA members to pull a 50,000-pound fire truck for charity, and is considering either an Amityville Horror or Lizzie Borden overnighter without power or electricity. He also recently completed a Silversmithing Adventure in Argentina and a Photography and Art Adventure in France and Oregon,

Fluge hopes to return to France this September to further his artistic education and instruction, expects to be back in South America later in the fall for Python hunting in the Amazon, and is planning a duel in Death Valley.

About Oregon Region SCCA

The Oregon Region of the Sports Car Club of America was established in the 1960's and has grown to its present membership of over 1,200 members. The Region obtained its charter from SCCA in 1962. It is a member oriented, member operated club with the primary purpose of "promoting, maintaining and improving automobile sports and interest in the ownership, operation of, and safety of sports cars."

The roots of SCCA and Oregon Region run deep in racing history. The origin of SCCA can be traced back to the pre-World War II "Auto Racing Club of America" which disbanded because of World War II. Originally, the State of Oregon was included in the territory of Northwest Region, SCCA (NWR), and it remained that way until the official creation of Oregon Region in 1962.

From its beginning, Oregon Region SCCA has been organizing and administering sports car/club racing events at Newport, Goshen (South of Eugene) and Portland's West Delta Park (now Portland International Raceway - PIR). The Region's first race was held at the Newport municipal airport (an ex-WWII air base) in 1962.

Currently, Oregon Region has active programs in Club Racing, Vintage Racing, Road Rally, Rallycross, and in Solo II - SCCA's autocross program where competitors compete against the clock in a controlled atmosphere. The Oregon region also provides workers and officials to major professional international racing competitions here in Oregon and across North America. Their Web site is http://www.oregonscca.com and may also be reached at 503.224.9469.

Portland International Raceway is owned and operated by the City of Portland through its bureau of Parks and Recreation. The raceway is operated as an Enterprise Fund, meaning that its operating expenses and capital improvements are covered by the revenues that it generates, as Portland International Raceway receives no general fund tax dollars. The raceway's varied, year round activities bring between 30 and 40 million dollars into the surrounding community each year.
